Subject: Voluntary Tire Safety Recall Notice

Dear Hankook Tire Customer,

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Hankook Tire Co., Ltd. ("HTCL") has determined that tires Dynapro A/S RH03 P265/70R17 113S produced in between March 1, 2009 through November 30, 2010 did not conform to internal performance criteria. The tires can wear prematurely and/or experience a blow-out, increasing the risk of a crash.

REASONS FOR THIS VOLUNTARY RECALL

In tests recently conducted, certain passenger tires, Dynapro A/S RH03 P265/70R17 113S did satisfy Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard ("FMVSS") 139 but did not fully meet internal performance criteria set higher than FMVSS 139 as some appear to show less than expected sidewall performance when placed under extreme conditions.

AFFECTED TIRES CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY THE DOT NUMBER

The DOT number will read as follows with the valid date codes found at the end in place of the X's, T7 9N JNH XXXX. The DOT number can be found on the sidewall near the bead. A sample DOT is shown in Picture # 1, 2.

WHAT WE WILL DO

In the event that your tire(s) have DOT number in Table #1 (listed below), we will replace the tire(s) with same or similar new Hankook tires at no cost to you effective December 21, 2010.

To determine if your tires are included in this campaign, please check the DOT identification on the sidewall of the tire. If any of your Dynapro A/S RH03 P265/70R17 113S tires display the following DOT numbers, that tire is one of the tires being recalled.

Any consumer who believes they are affected by the recall should not wait to receive notification but should contact their local HANKOOK dealer or the HANKOOK Tire Customer Service Team at the following contact numbers.

If you had this repair performed before you received this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
